PROPOSED LIQUOR DISCOUNT POLICY
JANUARY, 2001
1. Emolovee Discount: Any and all current liquor store employees are entitled to a
10% discount on all store merchandise, for personal use. Immediate family can
receive discount if employee is working at time of purchase. Discounts to not
apply to former employees, and not to other city employees, and not to friends or
distant relatives. A 15% discount is available to current liquor store employees
for purchase of wine, excluding wine coolers and "pop" wines (10% off on these).
A 20% discount for "New" wines (first 30 days in store, as dated on back of
"new" shelf talker), or per management approval. Also, certain items may be
purchased at cost (i.e. Cigarettes, single sodas, water, juice, etc.), cost posted at
stores. No discounts for employee or customers on any sale items (i.e. Products
with a retail price ending with a $.33 or $.88). All receipts must be clearly
marked "employee" and initialed and saved in cash drawer.
2. Case Discounts: A 10% discount to customers on purchase of a case of
wine or liquor everyday. A case is any 6 bottle of 1.75 L, 1.5 L, 4 packs or 12
bottles of 750 m1 or liter size. No further discounts on sale (i.e. End with $.33 or
$.88) items. Sale items can count as quantity towards a case sale. All receipts
must be kept and initialed and placed in register drawer for all case discounts.
3. Wine Dav Discounts: Every Tuesday is "Wine Day". A 10% discount is given
to any bottle/s of wine excluding sale (i.e. End with $.33 or $.88) items.
4. Senior Citizen Discounts: There is a 10% discount given to senior citizens age 62
and older on all non-sale (i.e. Not ending in $.33 or $.88) "wine" and "liquor".
Beer cannot be discounted. "Senior Day" is every Monday. Seniors purchasing a
case on Mondays still only receive the 10% discount, not 20%.
