As you will quickly recognize from my resume, I have no particular expertise or experience in this area. My only qualification is strong interest. I moved to Shorewood in June from Eden Prairie. As a resident of the Boulder Bridge subdivision, I am an enthusiastic user of Lake Minnetonka Over the past summer, I have seen a tremendous number of people respectfully enjoy the lake. Unfortunately, I have also seen this resource abused. My interest in being a part of the LMCD is to simply play a small part in assuring that the people in a community such as Shorewood can take full advantage of the lake, while preserving it for the future. I have no particular agenda or objective, but I can offer the time and energy to be a responsible representative. If this is of interest, please contact me at (612) 380-9829. I am very interested in the opportunity to represent our community on the LMCD Board. My "credentials", very briefly, include: - I grew up on Lake Minnetonka. I have a passion for managing it's usage. - as a result of the above, I have experienced significant changes in usage patterns on the lake. I am very interested in managing the lake as an ongoing resource that must be preserved for our children. (and improvements are needed.) - I have served on the Hennepin County Water Patrol, which covered both the liquid and frozen seasons of the lake. - I am currently involved in 2 water quality programs wherein I am recording Lake Minnetonka water "information" so that improvements can be made. - I am a "student of the lake" and am concerned that continuous expansion of lake access/usage will result in a significant and unacceptable compromise in enjoyment of the Jake for all parties. I will plan to be available on November 8th to discuss this matter further. Please let me know if there is more information that you require. Thx. I have been on the LMCD since 1979 and have been very active in local politics and other lake management issues. I lived on Lake Minnetonka for 20 years and moved to a non-lake residence a few years ago. So I see both the lake shore and non-lake shore points of view. While on the LMCD, I have been the Chairman for two terms & have chaired all of the committees at least one time. I have also been on a number of task forces and have attended many other meetings; e.g. Minnehaha Watershed, DNR, Met Council, etc. I believe that I have done a good job of representing Shorewood and would consider myself a resource on lake issues to the Council and staff. I would like to continue my service to you. Thank You for your consideration, $-6/fJ~ BobRascop (470-4455) Home (685-4394) Cellular bob.rascop@aol.com
