The purpose of this meeting is to interview candidates for the Lake
Minnetonka Communications Commission representative. At 6:30 p.m.,
the Council will meet with Malcomb Reid and Pamela Blixt to discuss
Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Board issues.
No official action will be taken at this meeting.

Please be advised that I am seeking reappointment to the LMCC Commission. I have
enjoyed the City of Shorewood's trust and confidence for the past three years
representing the interests of the residents of Shorewood in the franchise renewal
negotiations. Now the commission is facing the exciting proposition of working together
with Triax in rebuilding their network into a state of the art Hybrid Fiber Coax Network
with many planned and emerging features, such as Cable Telephone and High -Speed
Internet Access services. The new architecture has the potential to drastically reduce
service outages and improve overall picture quality. The new system has the ability to
offer thirty new analog video channels and up to literally hundreds of new digital
compressed video channels. I look forward to working with Triax and the Commission
to focus on improving Triax customer service as well as taking firm positions to regulate,
to the full extent of the law, price increases for basic tier services

My primary interest in serving on the committee is to ensure the LMCC is building the appropriate
communications infrastructure for the future. Because of our more rural setting, a lack of high bandwidth
data access from the telcos could leave us at all ecunomic disadvantage relative to areas of the city where
higher speed access is available. The LMCC is in a position to both ensure our residents have an
alternative and create appropriate competition between the two providers. My goal would be to make sure
this happens in a timely fashion.
