RESOLUTION NO. ~~-052
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING A CERTAIN TAX-FORFEITED PARCEL
LYING WITHIN THE CITY AND APPROVING IT FOR SALE TO AN
ABUTTING OWNER
WHEREAS, The City Council is the official governing body of the City of
Shorewood, and
WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin has sent to the City Conservation/Non-
Conservation Classification List 1386 C/NC containing one parcel which has been
forfeited to the State of Minnesota for nonpayment of property taxes:
PID # 32-117-23-13-0035
WHEREAS, the County of Hennepin has requested the City to affirm the
nonconservation classification of the lands; to either request a conveyance of said lands to
the City for public use, approve the sale of the lands to abutting owners, or approve the
public auction of the lands; and to provide other certification with request to the property;
and
WHEREAS, the subject parcel is not required by the City for public use; and
WHEREAS, the subject parcel is a vacant parcel whose substandard shape and
dimensions make it unbuildable as a separate parcel;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
1) That the nonconservation status of the above parcels is affirmed.
2) That the City does hereby approve the parcel at PID # 32-117-23-13-0035 for
sale to the adjoining property owner(s); and
3) That the above-described parcel is not, to the City's knowledge,
a) Lands designated as a mining unit or subject to a mining permit or
lease,
b) Lands located within the boundaries of a state park,
c) Waterfront lands bordering a meandered lake, public water, or
watercourse,
d) Lands containing substantial deposits of peat, or
e) Non-forested marginal lands or wetlands.
