Gentlemen:
We would like to have the Planning Commission re-zone that portion of
Lot Ill, Auditor's Subdivision Number 133, Hennepin County, Minre sota,
described on the survey attached to the original of this letter, to
enable us to build a school bus stora.ge and maintenance garage, on the
N orthem Portion of this property.
The reason for this request is that we are providing the transportation
for the children from. this area to the Minnetanka Public Schools and also
to st John the Japtist Parochial School in Excelsior.
We feel that the service we offer is a very vital part of this cOlIlIllunity
and that the best interests of the people can be served from this location
as it is very nearly centrallt loca.ted in the area.
.
Our intention is not to disturb the portion of this property fronting on
Highway 1119 except for an a.ccess road along the West Property line. We
also do not wish to disturb the wooded areas of this property as we feel
that they offer a natural screen.
Mr. Howarcl Herzog who is our manager at this looation, is a long time
resident of Sherewood and all of the drivers employed by us reside
either in Shorewood or in nearby Excelsior.
In checking with your assessor, Mr. Ray Friede, we have found that our
proposed plant will produce approximate],y $2,000.00 in taxes for the village.
Plans for this proposed building will be available for inspe ction at the
time of the meeting.
This Company has been in the School Jus Jusiness since 1948, serving the
Public Schools in Albert Lea, tiIh"lesota, Horthrop Collegiate Schoo3., Jreek
School, st. Helena's,. St Thomas Schools in :linneapolis and JJ.a1ce School in
Hopkins. We also provide service for the student nurses from. Abbott,
Northwestem and st. Barnabas. Hospitals to :BIacalester College.
Thank you very much for your consideration in our behalf.
Very truly yours,
Incl.
