A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
THE BOULDER BRIDGE AND
BADGER FIELD WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to resolution, on July 25, 1995, the City Council
authorized Orr-Schelen-Mayeron & Associates to prepare plans and specifications for the
Water System Improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood as follows:
1. That such plans and specifications, dated July 31, 1995 are hereby approved.
2. That the City Clerk shall prepare and cause to' be inserted in the official
newspaper and in "Construction Bulletin" an advertisement for bids upon the making of
such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall
specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the Clerk until 11:00
a.m. on the 25th day of August, 1995, at which time they will be publicly opened in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall by the City Clerk, will then be tabulated, and will be
considered by the Council at 6:30 p.m. on the 28th day of August, 1995, in the Council
Chambers, and that no bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and
accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the
Clerk for five per cent (5%) of the amount of such bid. '.

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT IN THE LVIATT~
BOULDER BRIDGE AND BADGER FIELD WATER SYSTEM
IMPROVEMENTS
CITY OF SHOREWOOD
WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the Council
has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessment for the
improvement of Boulder Bridge and Badger Field Water System Improvements. The cost
for such improvements is estimated to be $1.700.000.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Shorewood, Minnesota:
1. Such proposed assessment, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a
part hereof, is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the lands
named therein, and each tract of land therein included in hereby found to be benefited by
the proposed improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it. The portion
of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared to be $846.250
(total of assessment rom.
2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal annual installments extending
over a period of fifteen (15) years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before
the first Monday in January 1996, and shall bear interest at the rate of seven (7) percent per
annum from the date of the adoption of this assessment resolution. To the first installment
shall be added interest on the entire assessment from the date of this resolution until
December 31, 1996. To each subsequent installment when due shall be added interest for
one year on all unpaid installments.
3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to
certification of the assessment to the county auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on
such property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the City Treasurer, except
that no interest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from the
adoption of this resolution; and he/she may, at any time thereafter, pay to the City Treasurer
the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December
31 of the year in which such payment is made. Such payment must be made before
November 15 or interest will be charged through December 31 of the next succeeding year.
4. The Oerk shall forthwith transmit a certified duplicate of this assessment to the
county auditor to be extended on the property tax lists of the county. Such assessments
shall be collected and paid over in the same manner as other municipal taxes.
